Julia Alterman

Dr. Julia Altermann is an Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, bringing her extensive expertise in RNA therapeutics from the bench to the classroom. Her research career is deeply rooted in the field, having served as a Principal Scientist at Atalanta Therapeutics and as a Postdoctoral Associate and Graduate Student at the renowned RNA Therapeutics Institute at UMass. With over a decade of experience in biotech and academia, including key roles at Anchor Therapeutics, her work focuses on advancing RNA interference (RNAi) and other oligonucleotide-based technologies to develop novel treatments for human disease. She is a dedicated scientist driving innovation in the next generation of genetic medicines.
